This year was the first time I've ever participated in any sort of Canada Day festivities. Actually....gosh, it's the first summer festivities of any sort that I've ever participated in. The afternoon was most disappointing, but the evening and fireworks were great (aside from the many, many mosquito bites that I collected). I'd never really seen fireworks in person before, just the little ones people would set off themselves all over the beach near camp. I vaguely recall seeing some great fireworks in Quebec too, but we don't speak of that trip. Oh, and I did see some footage of the ones in Victoria that my Dad's cousin organizes, but footage is very boring and we fast-forwarded through as much as possible when nobody was looking. Anyways, the fireworks last night were great. Happy Canada Day.
And, I also watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail in its entirety for the first time last night. So awesome.

oh, and Colin's fireworks are impressive, but yeah, you really have to be there. they wouldn't transfer very well onto film.
and Happy Canada Day (even though it's a day late)
